Pick 1: Old World Wine Pick

Castello della Sala Orvieto Classico 2016

A fantastic, juicy, complex, and refreshing white wine from Italy, the Castello della Sala Orvieto shows just why whites from Italy have been surging back into popularity. An incredible wine at the table or by the pool!

Castello della Sala is an Antinori winery in Umbria. The Antinori family has winemaking in their blood as they have had 26 consecutive generations of winemakers in their family since 1385!

Pick 2: Crowd Pleasing Wines

Ste Michelle “Canoe Ridge Vineyard” Merlot 2013

A big rich Merlot with a lot of backbone that drinks like a cab. Its notes are full of red berries, cinnamon, vanilla, and earth on a palate that is rich with tannins more supple than a cabernet. This quality is incredible and will blow away any guests you serve this single vineyard wine to.

Canoe Ridge vineyard gets its name from the ridge by the vineyard located along the Columbia River. The famed explorers Lewis and Clark named this crest of land in 1805 as they passed in on their historic adventure.

Pick 3: The Great Ones

Pine Ridge Cabernet 2015

The wine has explosive notes of mocha, espresso, blueberries, and raspberries on the nose with Pine Ridge’s classic notes of crushed gravel sitting on a rich but smooth palate. A stunning cabernet that has long been a benchmark Napa.

Wineries have often been a showcase for fine art; Pine Ridge has one of the largest Chihuly displays available in their cellar. You can get a special tasting or dinner there in the caves right in front of the art works.

Pick 4: Value Spot Light

Peñalba Lopez Cava Brut Nature NV

A classic Cava with notes of lemon, brioche, peaches, and straw and refreshing acidity. It’s so light and crisp because it is a Brut Nature, which means it has no discernable sugar at all!

Ninety-five percent of Cava comes from Penedes in Catalonia but this one is one of the few exceptions. It is from Ribera del Duero and it is the only Cava legally allowed to be produced within Ribera del Duero.
