Pick 1: Old World Wine Pick

Pieropan Soave Classico 2016

An incredible white from Italy, Pieropan elevates Soave to sublime. Notes of peaches, pears, and yellow apples with hints of apricot and lemon with a great balance of white flowers, and crushed stone that is still easy and crisp but a touch creamy.

Pieropan is one of the most important and best Soave producers helping put the region on the map and even creating the style for the DOCG Reccioto di Soave which was copied by other regions to produce the iconic Italian dessert wines.

Pick 2: Crowd Pleasing Wines

Tommassi Amarone Classico 2013

Polished and smooth are the two words that immediately come to mind as you take a sip of this Amarone. Its silky tannins are filled with flavors of blackberries, orange rind, coffee, chocolate, and dried strawberries. A wine that’s perfect any day and twice on Sundays!

Valpolicella, meaning “valley of many wine cellars” in Latin and Greek, also refers to the region of Amarone della Valpolicella, located in Verona, Italy.

Pick 3: The Great Ones

Casanova di Neri Tenuta Nuova 2013

A modern yet balanced Brunello that’s equal parts power and flash, showing layers of bright fruits like raspberries, black cherries, and blueberries with intense tones of minerality and rounded off with spice, leather, and hints of balsamic flavors. A great drink today that will age into a truly unforgettable wine.

Brunello di Montalcino is considered one of the top regions in Italy for wine and was part of the original 1980 classification of quality regions in Italy.

Pick 4: Value Spot Light

Marques de Caceres Reserva 2012

A rich and layered Rioja with superb fruit and vanilla tones balanced out with savory hints of earth, tobacco, and crush black stones. Caceres always delivers, but this vintage has superseded its bar and is a true pleasure to drink.

Marques de Caceres is not an old Bodega being founded in 1970. The name comes from an investor and friend of the founder and not the main owners the Forner family.
